About our Speaker:
Catherine West MP was Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Indo Pacific at the Foreign Office from July 2024-September 2025. She will talk about her experiences as a minister with wide-ranging responsibilities including relations with Australia and other important countries from this dynamic region. Catherine grew up in Australia and moved to the UK after graduating from Sydney University and working in the Northern Territories. She has a masters degree in Chinese from SOAS. She led Islington Council from 2010-2013 and has been a Labour MP since 2015
